Denali is a 3–4 year old Husky mix found abandoned in Pescadero, BCS in early spring 2025. What began as a short foster stay after a spay and neuter clinic visit became a life saving commitment when testing revealed Ehrlichia and heartworm. Without treatment, Denali would not have survived.
His foster committed to his care, began heartworm treatment, and made the decision to bring him north to a climate better suited for him. Denali struggles in the Baja heat and will thrive in a cooler environment.

Weight: approx. 55 lbs (25 kg), ideal 62–66 lbs
Currently undergoing heartworm treatment
Dewormed, flea and tick protected
On Bravecto and Heartgard Plus (switching to Simparica Trio in March)
Will receive rabies vaccine and microchip prior to travel
Medical Note
Denali received his final heartworm treatment in March 11, 2025. Because dogs with heartworm cannot fly, he will travel by car and will need a calm lifestyle during recovery.
Personality
Calm, social, and well mannered. Friendly with adults and respectful children, great with other dogs, quiet, potty trained, excellent on leash, comfortable in the car, and independent while still enjoying being nearby. Energy level is low to medium.
Ideal Home
A calm home in a cooler climate with a secure fenced yard, with or without other dogs, and patient adopters who can support his recovery.
