Nikita is a beautiful and resilient dog who has overcome a very difficult start in life. She was found wandering the streets protecting a small puppy that was not even her own. Both were severely malnourished and covered in ticks, but with care, patience, and love they recovered well.
For the past four years Nikita has been living with her rescuers, where she has slowly learned to trust people and the safety of a home. When she first arrived she was extremely fearful and would not even enter the house. With time, patience, and gentle guidance she has made incredible progress. Today she comes inside comfortably and even relaxes on the couch with her family.

Personality
Nikita is extremely intelligent, loyal, and protective of the people she loves. She forms strong bonds with her family and enjoys being close to them. She is affectionate, playful, and loves cuddling on the couch after a good day of exercise.
She can be shy and cautious with strangers at first, but once she understands someone is safe she relaxes and becomes comfortable.
