Breed: Best guess… border terrier-ish…— emphasis on ish, because Wallace appears to have designed his own breed.
Neutered, fully vaccinated, healthy
Currently living in Guadalajara, Mexico, will travel To his family
And underneath all that fabulous scruff? An incredibly sweet boy.
Wallace originally wandered up to a house all by himself. The family took him in, but eventually decided they no longer wanted him, and he was surrendered to the shelter. He arrived shy and unsure of both people and other dogs. With time, patience and a safe place to land, that cautious little guy blossomed into a happy, affectionate, social goofball.
Dogs? YES PLEASE. Wallace has lived around other dogs since he was young and is social and respectful with them. In fact, playing with his dog friends is pretty much his favourite pastime.
Cats? Hard pass. Wallace has been tested and has submitted his official vote: no cats, thank you.
Energy level: Medium. He loves walks, playing with his buddies and — apparently — a really good stick. But he also appreciates downtime, affection and curling up in his beloved bed.
House manners: This guy has them! He’s calm indoors, crate trained, non-destructive, can be left alone without separation anxiety, walks well on leash, has good recall and rides nicely in the car.
Wallace can be a little cautious when meeting someone new, but once he realizes his person thinks you’re okay, he starts to trust. He’s also known to guard his food a little, so that’s something his future family should be prepared to continue working with. Children haven’t yet been tested, but testing and video can be arranged for an interested family.
His ideal home? Medium activity, plenty of affection, adventures followed by couch time, and bonus points for a friendly canine sibling.
We expect Wallace may be shy when he first arrives in Canada. New country, new home, new humans and none of his familiar dog friends is a LOT. He’ll need someone willing to give him a little patience while he figures out that he’s safe.
And then?
You get this guy. Scruffy. Silly. Sweet. Loyal. And sporting eyebrows most of us would pay good money for.
